President Nizar Amidi received a congratulatory message on Saturday from King Charles III of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the occasion of his assumption of office.
"President Nizar Amidi received a congratulatory message from King Charles III of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the occasion of his assumption of office," according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
In the message, King Charles III affirmed that "the United Kingdom attaches great importance to its relationship with Iraq," noting "the keenness to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries and peoples."
King Charles III expressed "his satisfaction with the positive developments achieved by Iraq in recent years, particularly in the area of enhancing security," expressing "his hope for joint efforts to preserve the gains achieved after many sacrifices in Iraq, and to enhance stability for Iraqis and the entire region."
The King welcomed "the level of close cooperation between the two countries in addressing the effects of climate change and water security, and the joint work to build a more secure and prosperous future for both countries."
