The French government congratulated Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi on Friday on his government's winning the confidence of the Council of Representatives.
French Ambassador to Baghdad Patrick Dugail said in a post on the Axe platform, which was monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "I congratulate Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and the Iraqi government on obtaining the confidence of the Council of Representatives."
"This positive step should lead to change in the country for the benefit of the Iraqi people," he added, noting that France will stand by Iraq with full respect for its sovereignty.
