Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army, Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Yarallah, on Thursday congratulated Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi on securing parliamentary confidence for his government, describing the vote as an important step toward strengthening stability.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Yarallah said, “On my behalf and on behalf of the Ministry of Defense personnel, I extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh al-Zaidi on the occasion of your government winning the confidence of the parliament, wishing you continued success in carrying out your national responsibilities.”
He added that the vote of confidence “represents an important step towards strengthening stability and consolidating state institutions,” noting that the military establishment renews its commitment to the nation and the constitution, and will continue to perform its duty in protecting Iraq’s security and sovereignty and supporting government efforts in serving citizens.
He further expressed confidence in government support for strengthening the Iraqi Army’s capabilities and developing its combat and technical readiness in a way that meets the aspirations of the Iraqi people for stability and prosperity.
He concluded by praying for the protection of Iraq and its people and success for the government in serving the country.
