The US Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a detailed report on the first month of the naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports, noting that 67 ships were forced to change course in compliance with the blockade.
According to its report, CENTCOM stated that "the United States has been enforcing an intensive blockade for four weeks on all ships heading to or departing from Iranian ports," explaining that "this blockade aims to cut off Iran's economic lifeline at the heart of the military conflict."
The report added that "to ensure the implementation of the blockade, the United States has amassed a large force in the region comprising more than 15,000 troops, 200 combat and reconnaissance aircraft, and 20 large warships."
CENTCOM clarified that the results of the operation so far are as follows:
• 67 commercial vessels were forced to change course and comply with the embargo after warnings from US forces.
• Only 15 humanitarian ships carrying aid were allowed to pass through.
• Four ships that refused to comply with instructions from US forces were immobilized and stopped.
The report indicated that "earlier this week, US forces compelled two additional commercial vessels to turn back after they failed to respond to radio communications. The forces fired warning shots, prompting the vessels to immediately retreat."
CENTCOM confirmed that "this operation will continue, and its forces are at the highest level of readiness to counter any attempt to break the naval blockade imposed on Iran."
