Al-Halbousi Meets with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross

Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi met today, Sunday, with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Marijana Spoljaric, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination for ratifying agreements that support the work of the humanitarian mission and facilitate its tasks in Iraq.

The Speaker's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi received today the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Marijana Spoljaric, and her accompanying delegation."

"The meeting addressed a number of topics related to the work of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Iraq and its role in addressing humanitarian issues and providing support to affected groups."

According to the statement "the meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination for ratifying agreements that contribute to supporting the work of the humanitarian mission and facilitating its tasks in Iraq, including the agreement on the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross."
