President Nizar Amedi stressed on Sunday the importance of continuing efforts to preserve stability and reinforce social peace during a meeting with National Security Service chief Abu Ali al-Basri.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency’s media office and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), President Amedi received al-Basri at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, where the National Security chief congratulated him on assuming the post of President of the Republic. The statement added that the meeting addressed the latest security developments in the country.
During the meeting, the President emphasized “the importance of continuing work to preserve stability and consolidate social peace,” while commending “the efforts exerted by the National Security Service in carrying out its duties.”
For his part, the head of the National Security Service expressed appreciation for the President’s directives and reviewed the agency’s role in safeguarding the country’s security and supporting national efforts aimed at enhancing stability.
