Iran's mission to the United Nations called on Security Council members on Wednesday to reject the US-Gulf draft resolution concerning the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that the solution to the crisis lies in ending the war, lifting the naval blockade, and restoring normal navigation.

The Iranian mission to the UN called on Security Council members to "reject the US-Gulf draft resolution in the Security Council," asserting that "the solution to the Strait of Hormuz crisis lies in ending the war, lifting the naval blockade, and restoring normal navigation."

"The only possible solution in the Strait of Hormuz is clear: a permanent end to the war, the lifting of the naval blockade, and the restoration of normal navigation. Instead, the United States is pushing a flawed and politically motivated draft resolution to the UN Security Council, invoking 'freedom of navigation' to serve its political agenda and legitimize its illegal actions, not to resolve the crisis,” said the mission on X.

The mission called on member states “to act according to logic, fairness, and principles, not under pressure, and to reject the draft resolution and refrain from supporting or co-sponsoring it."
