Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Helou Al-Askari, announced today, Monday, the launch of the fourth edition of the "Study in Iraq" program, noting that the ministry is dedicating its full resources to providing an educational environment with international standards.
In a speech delivered at the launch of the fourth edition of the "Study in Iraq" program, attended by a correspondent from the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Askari stated, "Today, we launched the fourth edition of the 'Study in Iraq' program for the 2026/2027 academic year." He explained that "the scholarship is designated for international students wishing to study at Iraqi universities in various scientific and humanities disciplines."
He added that "the 'Study in Iraq' online platform is available to international students applying for undergraduate programs from today, May 4, 2026, until the end of July, and for postgraduate programs until the end of September."
He noted that, "Based on the success of the 'Study in Iraq' program in accepting over 5,000 international students from 60 nationalities across the globe, the ambition for the fourth edition for the 2026/2027 academic year extends beyond simply maintaining the enrollment levels achieved in previous years; it aims to further enhance academic and cultural diversity."
He commended "the sustainability of this vital program as a practical embodiment of the academic policy adopted in the pursuit of internationalization and a strategic gateway for attracting international students to our prestigious universities." He added that "the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is committed to harnessing its full potential to provide an educational environment with international standards that contributes to developing capabilities, enhancing programs, and keeping pace with the rapid advancements in the fields of scientific knowledge."
