MP Othman Al-Shibani, from the State of Law Coalition, affirmed on Saturday that the invitation extended to Prime Minister-designate Ali Al-Zaidi to visit Washington, along with the resumption of dollar shipments, reflects practical steps to support Iraq economically and bolster financial stability and confidence in the national economy.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Shibani said, "The appointment of Ali Al-Zaidi as Prime Minister represents an important step in the path of strengthening political stability, and it has been followed by international and regional consensus and widespread welcome, reflecting clear support for this stage."
He added, "The invitation extended to Al-Zaidi to visit Washington, along with the resumption of dollar shipments, reflects practical steps to support Iraq economically, enhance financial stability and confidence in the national economy, as well as solidify Iraq's position and political decision-making in the region."
He continued, "Strengthening partnerships with neighboring countries is a fundamental priority, especially in addressing regional crises, foremost among them the water issue with Turkey, in a way that ensures the protection of national interests and achieves sustainable balance and stability."
