The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, reported on Friday that a new Iranian proposal represents a step toward meeting US demands, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.
The sources stated that "the Iranian proposal includes an offer to discuss opening the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for guarantees to halt attacks and lift the blockade."
"The proposal also includes discussing the Iranian nuclear issue at a later stage, in exchange for easing US sanctions," the sources added.
The sources indicated, "Iran confirmed its readiness to negotiate early next week, provided Washington is open to the new proposal."
