28th anniversary of the martyrdom of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr and his two sons, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani expressed On Wednesday, his condolences, while affirming that the martyred Sayyid al-Sadr was a school of reference, scholarship, and morality.
The Prime Minister said in a post on the (X) platform, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We commemorate the 28th anniversary of the martyrdom of Grand Ayatollah, Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr and his two sons (may God sanctify their secrets),on such days, the sinful hands of the criminal dictatorial regime extended to target a great religious, national and humanitarian symbol, adding this great crime to a long series of violations and crimes that exceeded all limits and norms.”
He continued: “The martyred Sayyid al-Sadr (may God be pleased with him) was a school of reference, scholarship, and morality, characterized by his unifying, national, and social discourse, in which he addressed all Iraqis from different segments of society, therefore, the dictatorial regime saw him as a real threat to its criminal authority, which had bet on tearing apart the unity of the Iraqis.”
He added: “Our sincere condolences on this painful occasion to His Eminence Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr, to all the honorable Al-Sadr family, and to the followers and imitators of the martyred Sayyid,” concluding, “Mercy and blessings upon all the martyrs of Iraq, and shame and disgrace upon the hateful dictatorship.”
