The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed on Tuesday that it has not yet made a final decision on whether or not to participate in the Pakistan negotiations.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei told Iranian television, "No final decision has been made regarding participation in the Pakistan negotiations."
He added, "We have not made a decision regarding the Pakistan negotiations due to the contradictory messages, conflicting behaviors, and unacceptable actions from America."
Baghaei stressed that "any diplomatic path or any negotiations must be measured based on our interests and standards," explaining that "merely going back and forth is not in itself a standard for the success of a path, nor does it possess authenticity in itself."
He pointed out that "the most important thing is to reach a conclusion that participation in a particular diplomatic path will secure our national interests."
