Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said on Wednesday that the United States violated three key points of the ten-point proposal, noting that the ceasefire in Lebanon was among these points.
Qalibaf said in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Three key points of the ten-point proposal were violated before the start of negotiations," explaining that "the deep historical distrust we harbor toward the United States stems from its repeated violations of all forms of commitments—a pattern that has unfortunately been repeated once again."
He added, "The US president clearly stated in his post on the Truth platform that the ten-point proposal regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran is a 'valid basis for negotiation' and the main framework for these talks. However, three points of this proposal have already been violated:
1. Failure to adhere to the first point of the ten-point proposal concerning a ceasefire in Lebanon—a commitment also clearly indicated by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who declared it an 'immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and other areas, effective immediately.'
2. The incursion of an aggressive drone into Iranian airspace, which was destroyed in the city of Lar in Fars province, in flagrant violation of the clause prohibiting any further violations of Iranian airspace.
3. Denial of Iran's right to enrichment, a right guaranteed by the sixth point of the framework.
He stated that 'this very 'valid basis for negotiation' has been openly and clearly violated, even before negotiations have begun,' noting that 'a bilateral ceasefire or negotiations under these circumstances are illogical.'"
