The White House announced Wednesday the formation of the US negotiating team for the upcoming talks with Iran, noting that they are scheduled to begin Saturday in Islamabad.

White House spokeswoman Carolyn Leavitt confirmed that "Vice President JD Vance will head the US negotiating team in the talks with Iran."

She explained that "President Donald Trump's envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkopf, will participate in these negotiations, with the first round set to begin Saturday morning in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad."
