Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said that the United States requested the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to confront the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in Iraq, with American intelligence and logistical support.
Abdel Rahman added that the SDF refused this request, stating that their mission is limited to protecting their areas within Syria.
He also noted that the United States withdrew its support for the SDF within a short period, which contributed to the escalation of security threats and the resurgence of extremist groups in their areas of control.
