President Nizar Amedi emphasized on Thursday the importance of consolidating national unity and strengthening solidarity among all components of the Iraqi people.
The Presidential Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "President Nizar Amedi received a delegation of political and social figures from the Badinan region of Duhok Governorate at Baghdad Palace."
"The meeting reviewed the developments in the general situation in the country, in addition to discussing several issues affecting the region. The President stressed the necessity of consolidating national unity and strengthening solidarity among all components of the Iraqi people, which contributes to supporting community security," according to the statement.
The statement added that the president stressed the importance of preserving cohesion and adhering to the values of coexistence and national responsibility," emphasizing that "preserving and strengthening this approach represents a true guarantee for confronting challenges and supporting the process of reconstruction and reform.
“The members of the delegation appreciated the president's keenness to communicate directly with the people of different regions of Iraq and to listen to their opinions and demands, while they stressed their support for all efforts aimed at strengthening national unity and consolidating stability in a way that serves the supreme national interest,” according to the statement.
