President Nizar Amedi emphasized the importance of continuing to develop Iraqi-Dutch relations on Thursday.
The Presidential Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that President Amedi met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Iraq, Janet Alberda, at Baghdad Palace on the occasion of the end of her tenure.
The statement added that during the meeting, the President stressed the importance of continuing to develop Iraqi-Dutch relations and strengthening bilateral cooperation to serve mutual interests.
"The President noted Iraq's keenness to strengthen its relations with friendly countries based on mutual respect and constructive cooperation in support of development and stability efforts in the region and wished Ambassador Alberda success in her future endeavors," according to the statement.
For her part, the Dutch Ambassador expressed her gratitude to the President for the cooperation and support she received throughout her time in Iraq, affirming her country's desire to consolidate friendly relations and cooperation with Iraq and wishing the Iraqi people continued security, stability, and prosperity.
