U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the United States does not seek control of the Strait of Hormuz.
"We do not want control of the Strait of Hormuz, but we are compelled to do what is necessary because Iran cannot be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon," Trump told reporters.
He added, "Iran wants to reach an agreement, but I say they are not ready yet. They will be ready soon."
