Iranian President says Supreme Leader called for end to “neither war nor peace” state as Pakistan pursues mediation efforts

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Tuesday that all major decisions in Iran are made in accordance with the directives of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, adding that communication between the two has increased in recent weeks. Speaking during the National Industry and Mining Day ceremony, Pezeshkian said Khamenei had stressed in private meetings the need to end what he described as the state of “neither war nor peace.” The president said Iran’s negotiating position included reopening the Strait of Hormuz to oil exports and addressing other key issues.
