Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Mass Pilgrimages and Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, arrived in the holy city of Karbala on Tuesday to discuss the security and service preparations for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
According to a statement issued by the Supreme Committee for Mass Pilgrimages and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Muhammadawi arrived in Karbala Province at the head of a high-level delegation.
The statement added that the visit is aimed at attending a conference with the governors and senior officials of the Middle Euphrates provinces and Baghdad to review the security and service plans for the pilgrimage, while reaffirming the completion of all preparations to receive pilgrims commemorating Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
