Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi congratulated Andy Burnham on Monday on assuming the premiership of the United Kingdom.
In a post on the X platform, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), al-Zaidi said: "We congratulate Andy Burnham on assuming the premiership of the United Kingdom, wishing him success in his duties for the good and progress of the friendly United Kingdom."
Al-Zaidi emphasized the commitment to "strengthening the historic bilateral relations of friendship between Iraq and Britain in various fields," noting his aspiration to "raise the level of joint cooperation, support the economic partnership, and work on everything that contributes to strengthening the stability and security of the region and the world."
