Seismic monitoring stations at the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded a light earthquake on Monday morning near the Iraq-Iran border on the Diyala side.
According to a report issued by the authority and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the earthquake occurred approximately 90 kilometers northeast of the city of Khanaqin and registered a magnitude of 4.5.
The report added that residents felt the tremor, stressing that the public would be informed of any further developments.
