Iranian Foreign Minister: Valuable Relations Should Not be Affected by Personal Statements

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, discussed bilateral relations and shared interests on Sunday. Araqchi emphasized that these valuable relations should not be affected by personal statements.

During a phone call between the two foreign ministers, the two sides reviewed the dimensions of current developments and their repercussions on the security and stability of the region.

They also discussed the continuation of bilateral consultations and coordination to prevent an escalation of tensions and maintain regional peace and security.

"Araghchi affirmed during the call that relations between Iran and Iraq are deep-rooted and strategic, built on profound historical, cultural, and religious ties and shared interests between the two peoples," according to the statement.

"These valuable relations should not be affected by personal and unofficial statements," Araghchi added, reiterating Iran's commitment to mutual respect, good neighborliness, and continued development of relations with Iraq, both its government and people.
