Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano discussed Mohamed Salah's future and the possibility of the Egyptian international signing with Besiktas in the near future, commenting on the Turkish club's statement denying the signing.

In recent hours, Mohamed Salah was linked with a one-year contract with Besiktas, with the option to extend for an additional season, before the Turkish club denied the news in an official statement.

However, Romano, in statements reported by the website "teamtalk," confirmed that Besiktas wants to sign Mohamed Salah but issued this statement because the deal has not yet been officially finalized.

Romano said: "Why did Besiktas deny the rumors with an official statement? Because the Salah deal isn't finalized yet. Before any agreement is completed, clubs must be cautious, and this is perfectly understandable. Besiktas is indeed pursuing Salah and has already submitted an offer."

He added: "However, we have to wait for an official agreement before confirming anything. We're waiting for the next steps."

Romano concluded: "Salah has received offers from clubs in the MLS and Saudi clubs, so Besiktas is remaining silent until a final agreement is reached."

Mohamed Salah played his final season with Liverpool in 2025-2026 and didn't win a title in his last year at Anfield. Nevertheless, he has a legendary career with the English club, having won several titles, most notably the 2019 Champions League, the Club World Cup, and the Premier League in 2020 and 2025.
