PMF: Four ISIS terrorists sentenced to 15 years in prison

The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) confirmed on Saturday that four members of the ISIS terrorist organization have been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the PMF said: "The specialized court within the PMF issued a 15-year prison sentence against four members of the ISIS terrorist organization, after completing the legal and investigative procedures against them, following their arrest by the Investigations and Preventive Security Directorate of the General Directorate of Security and Discipline within the PMF."

The statement added that "the arrest of the convicts was based on precise intelligence and intensive field efforts, which led to locating their whereabouts and apprehending them in accordance with legal procedures."

It indicated that "the investigations proved the convicts' affiliation with what is known as the 'Fallujah Province' of the ISIS terrorist organization," noting that "after the investigations were completed, they were referred to the competent court within the Popular Mobilization Forces, which sentenced them to fifteen years in prison in accordance with the provisions of the law."

The statement continued, "The General Directorate of Security and Discipline in the Popular Mobilization Forces affirms its continued performance of its security and intelligence duties, and its continued pursuit of terrorist elements and sleeper cells and bringing them to justice, in a way that contributes to consolidating security and stability and protecting citizens."
