Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova affirmed on Wednesday that the alarming developments in the Middle East underscore the futility of military solutions.
She stressed that “a political settlement is the rational option,” emphasizing the necessity for regional states to play a leading role in building a comprehensive security system.”
During a press briefing, Zakharova stated, “The alarming developments affecting all countries in the region reaffirm the lack of prospects for military solutions, given the absence of any rational alternative to a settlement.”
“The countries of the Middle East must play a decisive role in this settlement, particularly the Gulf states, the Arab states, and certainly Iran, as their voice remains crucial in building a reliable and comprehensive security system for all in the region,” she highlighted.
