Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva criticised a proposal by US President Donald Trump to impose charges on goods passing through the Strait of Hormuz, saying such a measure would amount to “piracy.” Speaking at a public event in São Paulo state on Monday, Lula said “In the past, that would have been considered piracy.” “The United States is an important country, and I believe it fought piracy for a long time.
