The leader of the Shiite National Movement, Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr, offered his condolences on Monday to the Qatari people and the ruling family on the death of the Emir of Qatar, expressing his hope that the Arabian Gulf will enjoy security and stability.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the brotherly Qatari people and the ruling family on the death of the friendly Emir. We hope that the Arabian Gulf will live in peace with its neighbors, free from bases and fire, especially with Iran," said Sayyid Al-Sadr in a post on X, reported by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He added, "We ask God to grant the Qatari people peace, and to grant the Islamic and Arab countries brotherhood and harmony, free from normalization and terrorism, especially in Palestine and Lebanon."
