State Administration Coalition stresses need to continue anti-corruption campaign and proceed with process of confining weapons to state control

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi hosted a meeting of the State Administration Coalition today, Sunday, at the Government Palace, attended by President Nizar Amedi, Speaker of the Council of Representatives Haibat Hamad Al-Halbousi, President of the Supreme Judicial Council Faiq Zidan, and President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Nechirvan Barzani.

The Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement , received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA that “During the meeting, the participants were briefed on the arrangements and objectives related to the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to the United States. They also discussed ways to build on its anticipated outcomes in a manner that serves Iraq’s interests and strengthens its international relations”.

The statement added,"The participants affirmed their full support for the anti-corruption efforts launched by the government and the judiciary and stressed the need to continue the campaign in accordance with the law, free from political considerations or selectivity. They also emphasized the importance of moving forward with confining arms to the authority of the state, strengthening the rule of law, and consolidating the authority and sovereignty of the state’s constitutional institutions".

The State Administration Coalition expressed its heartfelt condolences to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and the brotherly Qatari people on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, praying to Almighty Allah to grant him His vast mercy.

The State Administration Coalition called for prioritizing dialogue and understanding, rejecting wars and escalation in addressing regional issues, and adopting peaceful means capable of achieving security and stability and safeguarding the interests of the peoples of the region. It also affirmed Iraq’s readiness to serve as a meeting point for shared interests and their advancement.
