Baghdad Mayor Ammar Musa Kadhim and the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Niccolò Fontana, emphasized the importance of expanding partnerships and strengthening institutional relations during a meeting held on Sunday.
The Baghdad Municipality stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that Mayor Kadhim met with Ambassador Fontana at his office to discuss prospects for enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the areas of infrastructure, urban services, and investment.
According to the statement, both sides stressed the importance of expanding the partnership between Baghdad and Rome, supporting the participation of reputable Italian companies in implementing service projects, and proceeding with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Baghdad Municipality and the Municipality of Rome.
This memorandum aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise and strengthen institutional ties between the two capitals, as the statement added.
