Mojtaba Khamenei vows revenge after father’s funeral
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has pledged to avenge the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, in his first public message since the late leader’s funeral.
“Revenge is the will of our nation,” Mojtaba Khamenei said, vowing to avenge his father’s “innocent blood”.
“We pledge to avenge the pure blood of the martyred leader and all the martyrs of these two wars from the criminal and disgraced murderers,” Press TV quoted him as saying.
He also thanked the millions of mourners who attended the funeral ceremonies, describing their turnout as an “enemy-breaking and historic presence”.
The remarks came days after the funeral of Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a US-Israeli strike at the start of the war on 28 February.
