Security Council to take firm stance to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, says GCC

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) called on the Security Council on Thursday to take a firm stance to guarantee freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

"We call on the Security Council to take a firm stance to guarantee freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," said GCC in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.

GCC added, "Iranian attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz threaten global energy security and trade."

The statement highlighted, "We hold Iran responsible for these developments and demand that it immediately and unconditionally cease all hostile acts."
