Iran says shipping through Strait of Hormuz is operating under its arrangements as security risk increases

Iran says commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is continuing under arrangements established by Tehran, as maritime security agencies warn of an elevated threat environment in the strategic waterway. According to a report by Bloomberg, citing a document, Iran has informed the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that it exercises authority over parts of the Strait of Hormuz. Separately, an informed source quoted by Iran’s Fars News Agency said that navigation through the strait is proceeding in accordance with Iranian arrangements.
