Saad Maan: All preparations completed for the funeral procession of Ayatollah Khamenei in Karbala and Najaf

The head of the Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, announced today, Monday, that all preparations have been completed for the funeral procession of the martyred Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf. He also confirmed that no one is banned from attending the funeral.

In a joint press conference with Najaf Governor Youssef Kanawi, attended by a correspondent from the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Maan stated, "All preparations have been completed for the funeral procession of the martyred Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf." He emphasized that "no one is banned from attending the funeral ceremonies," noting that "a high-level committee has been formed to oversee the funeral ceremonies." He added that "the procession will begin tomorrow at Najaf International Airport with official attendance and a high-level delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Maan explained that "continuous meetings are being held to oversee the plans prepared for the funeral ceremonies, with the participation of all security forces and the Army Aviation." He indicated that "the procession route will begin at the Sadrin Bridge and proceed to the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, a distance of 6 kilometers, with the participation of 351 Husseini processions, and the homes of Najaf residents will be open along the route."

Maan continued, "More than 600 Arab and foreign journalists will be participating." The funeral procession will be attended by more than 3,000 Iraqi, Arab, and international media figures,” he added, “a high-level committee and several subcommittees have been formed to oversee the preparations for the funeral of the martyred Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,” confirming that “all preparations for the funeral have been completed.”

Ma'an also noted that "a special traffic plan has been prepared in the governorates of Najaf and Karbala, as well as neighboring governorates, to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the funeral procession."

For his part, the Governor of Najaf, Youssef Kanawi, affirmed that "the governorate is ready to receive the crowds of mourners for the funeral of Sayyid Khamenei."

He added that "Najaf is capable of transporting the largest number of visitors and organizing funeral ceremonies."
