In a statement, the CTS said its forces carried out a series of security operations aimed at strengthening security and stability while pursuing drug trafficking networks.
In Al-Muthanna Province, CTS personnel, in coordination with the Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs and the provincial police command, arrested a suspected drug trafficker, who was subsequently handed over to the relevant narcotics directorate.
In a separate operation in Dhi Qar Province, CTS forces arrested another suspected drug trafficker and transferred him to the province’s Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs in accordance with legal procedures.
The statement added that CTS units also conducted a large-scale operation across the districts of Al-Fajr, Al-Fuhud, Suq Al-Shuyukh, and Al-Bathaa in Dhi Qar to survey and inspect border areas adjoining the provinces of Wasit, Al-Qadisiyah, Maysan, Basra, and Al-Muthanna.
The service noted that the operations were based on precise intelligence, continuous field monitoring, and judicial warrants issued by the CTS investigative judge.
