Iraq's Ministry of Trade onWednesday suspended Mohsen Mohamed Al-Namis, director-general of the state-ownedGeneral Company for Grain Processing, for 60 days, according to an officialdocument.
The ministry assigned Haider NouriAl-Karaawi, director-general of the General Company for Grain Trade, to managethe General Company for Grain Processing in addition to his existing dutiesduring the suspension. The document did not specify the reason for thedecision.
The order cited the powers grantedto Trade Minister Mustafa Nizar Juma under Iraq's State and Public SectorEmployees Discipline Law No. 14 of 1991 and took effectimmediately.
The move follows a series ofdismissals, transfers, and new appointments involving senior officials anddirectors-general at the ministries of electricity, oil, and transport. Thechanges have been carried out under directives issued by ministers and PrimeMinister Ali Falih al-Zaidi as part of a broader administrative reshuffleacross key government institutions.
