Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi discussed bilateral cooperation, particularly in the security field, with Turkish intelligence chief İbrahim Kalın, according to a statement from Halbousi's media office on Tuesday.
The statement said Al-Halbousi received Kalın and his accompanying delegation earlier in the day.
The two sides discussed regional and international developments and ways to strengthen cooperation between Iraq and Turkey, particularly in the security sector, in a manner that serves the two countries' common interests and contributes to supporting security and stability.
They also discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, the statement said.
