US and Iran agree to suspend attacks, hold meeting in Qatar

The United States and Iran have agreed to suspend attacks against each other for the time being, according to US media reports citing senior officials. The two sides intend to hold a meeting in Qatar on Tuesday to resolve their dispute regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The two sides exchanged strikes in recent days despite signing a memorandum of understanding on 17 June aimed at ending the conflict that disrupted shipping through the strategic waterway.
