President of the Republic Nizar Amedi on Sunday stressed the importance of supporting institutions dedicated to knowledge production to strengthen Iraq's civilizational standing.
The Presidency's media office said in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA that, “President Amidi received Naim al-Aboudi, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Beit Al-Hikma (the House of Wisdom), at Baghdad Palace.
The meeting reviewed the role played by the institution in promoting a culture of dialogue and reviving Iraq's intellectual and cultural heritage through its strategic plans, publications and specialized seminars, the statement said.
Amedi underscored the importance of supporting national institutions engaged in knowledge production and the promotion of culture, saying such efforts would enhance Iraq's civilizational status while keeping pace with the country's development and progress.
He also stressed the need to expand partnerships with academic and research institutions inside and outside Iraq and to draw on national expertise to develop sound solutions to challenges facing various sectors.
For his part, Al-Aboudi expressed his appreciation for the president's support for scientific and cultural institutions. He also outlined the House of Wisdom's key programs and future plans, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening its role as a center of knowledge that serves society and fosters closer ties between intellectuals and state institutions in the public interest.
