Iran's Revolutionary Guard confirmed on Saturday that it will deal firmly with ships taking routes other than those designated by Iran.

The Revolutionary Guard said in a statement that "ships are seeking permits from Iran to cross the Strait of Hormuz after unauthorized vessels were met with warning shots," noting that "Iranian instructions for passage through the Strait of Hormuz remain in effect."

It added that "all ships must communicate and coordinate with the Revolutionary Guard Navy to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz."

It emphasized that "the Revolutionary Guard Navy will deal firmly with ships taking routes other than those designated by Iran."
