Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi emphasized today, Sunday, the need to regulate the media environment.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received today the head of the Executive Authority of the Media and Communications Commission, Baligh Mithqal Abu Kalal."
According to the statement, al-Zaidi pointed to "the necessity of regulating the media environment, particularly digital media and social media platforms, in accordance with Iraqi law, and ensuring the protection of the social and value system of the Iraqi people."
Al-Zaidi stressed "the importance of benefiting from global experiences in this field, and emphasizing the legal and technical solutions to all the accompanying problems and challenges."
For his part, Abu Kalal reviewed before the Prime Minister the tasks and work of the Authority, and the prospects for future performance in carrying out its duties, whether in the field of media or the field of communications.
