PM Commends Pakistan's Role and Mediation Efforts Leading to De-escalation and Cessation of War

Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi commended Pakistan's role and mediation efforts that led to de-escalation and the cessation of hostilities on Thursday.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "al-Zaidi met with the Pakistani Ambassador to Iraq, Muhammad Zeeshan. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields, particularly economic and trade relations, as well as in the areas of security and investment."

The statement added that "the meeting addressed developments in the region, with the Prime Minister praising Pakistan's active role and mediation efforts that led to de-escalation, the cessation of hostilities, and the agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran."

According to the statement, al-Zaidi affirmed that "the agreement will contribute to sparing the region further chaos and instability," noting "Iraq's position in supporting security and strengthening constructive partnerships."
