The agency said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that, “In two separate operations carried out by the Baghdad/Karkh Intelligence and Counterterrorism Directorate, supported by intensive intelligence efforts and precise field surveillance, a suspect involved in a shooting incident targeting journalists and media personnel in an area of Baghdad's Karkh district was arrested.”

It added that, “In a separate operation, personnel from the same directorate arrested a suspect who had written tribal threat messages on a house in Baghdad's Karkh district,” noting that “both operations were carried out pursuant to judicial arrest warrants issued under Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law.”
