Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai, representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, affirmed on Tuesday that the Authority has issued directives to preachers, orators, poets, and reciters to achieve the ultimate goal of the Husseini pulpit. He explained that among these directives is the avoidance of presenting anything that incites division and discord among believers.
Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai said in his speech during the ceremony of replacing the banners of the domes of Imam Hussein and his brother Abbas (peace be upon them) to mark the arrival of the holy month of Muharram, as reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We must create a nation that understands the path of Ashura.”
Sheikh Karbalai added that "rituals are a means to reach the ultimate goal of piety."
He pointed out that "the Supreme Religious Authority has given special attention to the Husseini pulpit to achieve its highest objectives."
He clarified that "among the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority is to adopt the morals of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)."
