The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Faleh al-Fayyad, met with the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Klemens Semtner, on Tuesday to discuss strengthening joint security cooperation.
The Popular Mobilization Forces Authority said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "The head of the PMF, Faleh al-Fayyad, received the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Klemens Semtner, at his office in Baghdad on Tuesday."
"During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of developing bilateral relations and expanding the prospects of security and intelligence cooperation between Iraq and the European Union, in a way that contributes to strengthening security and stability in the country."
According to the statement "the two sides discussed developments in the region and ways to support joint efforts to consolidate stability, in addition to cooperation in confronting security challenges of common interest."
