Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc announced on Tuesday the formation of a joint committee to follow up on service and development issues in Nineveh province.
According to a statement from the bloc's media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), a delegation from the Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc visited Nineveh on Tuesday at the direction of coalition leader Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani. The delegation was headed by bloc chairman Baha Al-Araji and aimed to assess service, security and development conditions in the province and discuss key issues requiring follow-up with the federal government and relevant ministries.
The delegation included Hanan Al-Fatlawi, Diaa Al-Zaidi, Burhan Al-Mamouri, Rahima Al-Jubouri, Abdulrahman Al-Luwaizi and Ahmed Al-Dulaimi.
During the visit, the delegation met with the local government and members of the Nineveh Provincial Council to discuss the province's service and development situation, review the main obstacles facing the implementation of strategic projects, and explore ways to accelerate stalled projects and meet citizens' needs.
The statement said the discussions resulted in an agreement to form a joint committee comprising MPs from the province and members of the Nineveh Provincial Council. The committee will be tasked with identifying the main problems and obstacles hindering development in the province and submitting them to Baghdad for follow-up with the federal government and relevant service ministries, with the aim of finding practical solutions.
According to the statement, the delegation stressed that Nineveh remains a priority in reconstruction, services and stability efforts, underscoring the importance of supporting development and strategic projects in the province and accelerating implementation in line with citizens' service needs and infrastructure reconstruction requirements.
