Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that the United States had pledged, on behalf of its allies, that fighting would come to an end across all fronts, according to comments by a senior Iranian official.
Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said a proposed memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States includes provisions aimed at ending conflicts in multiple fronts, including Lebanon.
Takht-Ravanchi said the text of the memorandum had been finalized and could be signed in Switzerland in the near future as diplomatic preparations continue.
He added that any agreement would include clear mechanisms for addressing potential violations and said there was a broad understanding on the need to halt escalation in regional in areas of tension.
Takht-Ravanchi added that the United States had undertaken, on behalf of its allies that the war would end on all fronts.
