The President of the Republic, Nizar Amedi, congratulated the Iraqi people on Tuesday on the occasion of the beginning of the new Hijri year, renewing his commitment to continue working to strengthen security and stability.
In a post on the X platform, monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the President said "At the beginning of a new Hijri year, with the arrival of the first day of the month of Muharram, I extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to our dear Iraqi people and to the entire Islamic nation. I pray that this year will be one of goodness, peace, and stability for our beloved country."
He added "The memory of the noble Prophet's migration carries profound lessons in patience, sacrifice, and working toward building a society founded on justice, mercy, and coexistence."
He continued "On this blessed occasion, we renew our commitment to continue working to strengthen security and stability, advance the path of development and reconstruction, safeguard the dignity of citizens, and serve the interests of the nation."
