Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Tuesday that any military attack by Israel against Lebanon, or any continuation of the occupation, would constitute a violation of the concluded memorandum of understanding. He also stated that implementation of the memorandum will officially begin on Friday..
Araghchi said at a press conference that "the declaration of the end of the war was the most important achievement of the first phase of the agreement, and it was announced on Monday morning." He explained that "the end of the war in Lebanon represents an essential and binding part of the understandings related to ending the war with Iran."
He added that "the nuclear file and the lifting of sanctions will be addressed during the final stage of the negotiations," noting that "talks with the United States will continue for 60 days and will include discussions on the nuclear issue and sanctions."
Araghchi further explained that "implementation of the memorandum of understanding will officially begin on Friday," stressing that "any Israeli aggression against Lebanon or continuation of the occupation would be a clear breach of the memorandum and the agreements reached."
