US envoy Tom Barrack confirmed on Monday that he will meet with Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, noting that he will inform him of US President Donald Trump's support for his government.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Barak said, "I am pleased and honored to return to Baghdad to meet with the outstanding U.S. Embassy team, led by Chargé d'Affaires Joshua Harris."
It added, "Today I will meet with Prime Minister al-Zaidi to convey President Trump's support for his government and to discuss our partnership on a new path toward a strong and mutually beneficial U.S.-Iraqi relationship."
